March 18. Seven years have gone by quickly.
Fess spoke about the need to expand and improve Alamo Plaza at The Alamo Society 1994 Symposium.

Did Fess say anything about the need for transparent walls, or the preservation of Woolworth's?

Here's what Fess said at The Alamo Society 1994 Symposium: "My feeling is that this city and this state should be large enough and creative enough to pull back away from the Alamo and give it space."

Later, in a impromptu news conference reported by the San Antonio Express-News, Fess "suggested that San Antonio, Bexar County and the state of Texas finance an Alamo restoration effort to include reworking streets to minimize traffic and pollution, moving buildings and developing appropriate historical presentations."

It's time to "Go Ahead!"
