Just in case anybody saw this story about Santa Claus riding a mule in Austin, I wanted to be sure that everyone knew that this was an impostor. :)

His reindeer could´nt cope with the Texas heat so he had to use a mule instead. They say the mule is named Jesus (Hayzooz) and that he´s a mighty fine mule. ;)

We just had a little snow here in Austin early Thursday evening, and as of 7:30 pm it's still sleeting. It's not much compared to what people get in more northern locations around the world, but it's a rarity here, and it was kind of fun to see it. It's too warm for any accumulation. The current temperature is 33 F, and it will drop below freezing tonight, maybe around 28 F, and colder outside of town.

My cab driving brother in Chicago is headed for the deep freeze with Chicago's overnight forecast set at 16 F. Baby, it's cold outside. :)

Supposed to reach the low 20s here tonight and the next few days. First freeze of the year, which my allergies will be grateful for.

Wow, you sure are ready for Christmas, Santa! It looks great. I love the train set up, the singing polar bear head and the colored light bulbs outside. No lack of Christmas gift stockings either. Which one is mine? :D

We see him when he's sleeping.

He better wake up on the 24th. :D

He knows when you're awake.

That´s one large live sized Santa! :o

Hans, I love your Christmas tree.
That sleeping Santa is mechanical. As he sleeps, his chest rises and falls as he inhales snores and exhales whistling "Jingle Bells".
Loretta hand sewed the Christmas stockings and personalized each one by writing names in gold across the red tops. There are stockings for Loretta and me, for each of our six kids, four grandkids, three sons-in-law, one of my brothers, and a late mother-in-law.
Yesterday, went to a neighborhood Christmas party two houses away, and I ushered small groups of people over to my house for brief tours of my Christmas decorations. Glad I did. It would be a shame to go through all that work setting everything up, and not be able to share it with a lot of people, except the family that comes for dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
Ho, Ho, Ho!
Y'all be good now, ya hear? (That's how Santa Claus talks in Texas.)

I like your decorations and photos there, Claus. Tasteful and not blast-in-the-face. The Christmas Village/Bedford Falls display stands out in particular, and no, I've never seen the James Stewart movie.

Hans, I love your Christmas tree.

I went with the old adage, "Less is more." :D

That sleeping Santa is mechanical. As he sleeps, his chest rises and falls as he inhales snores and exhales whistling "Jingle Bells".

I love it, especially the snoring part. :D

Great idea! People love looking at Christmas decorations. Next time, tell them to bring their kids or grandkids.

Christmas "paintings" hanging in my living room. They're illuminated by battery powered internal lights. :D

They look great! I´ve never seen such "paintings" before. "Let there be light", he said, and turned on the batteries :D

Ho, Ho, Ho!
Y'all be good now, ya hear? (That's how Santa Claus talks in Texas.)

Last time Santa said "Ho, Ho, Ho" he ended up in court. :D
