The swinging tree. Too cold (34 degrees) and too shallow for this time of year to risk it.

Great photos. It looks like you had a pretty good day even though it was cold. Thanks for sharing.

Splendid "walk" along the river -- and I didn't even have to brave the cold. I guess it is full up people in the summertime -- swimmers, waders and tubers. Way cool!

Great photos of a great landscape! I love the small waterfalls.

The swinging tree. Too cold (34 degrees) and too shallow for this time of year to risk it.

Right, you better wait till summer. :D

Well we used to snorkle the river year round in my diving days ...its fed from underground sprgs and stays 70's temp year round! :) I once found an Indian relic there while snorkling a few years back ( now I think its a State Park and illegal to take anything .. an old Indian religious center or something! ) Anyway here's some pics .. I was told by none other than one of Quannah Parkers grandsons (whom I showed it to one day ) a nice 80 year old gentleman with silver braided hair! He said it looked to him to be several thousand years old and was definitely a handaxe! Its about 5 inches long and 3-4 wide and maybe 1 1/2 inches thick! I was honored to not only to have it but also to meet the gentleman! :) My lucky day indeed!

Very cool, Davy. Quite a find. Do you have any snorkling photos from San Marcos?

That´s some relic, that stone ax! It´s probably worth a bit of money too. I´ll bet Quanah Parker´s grandson could tell some interesting stories about his famous granddad.
