An odd discovery..

Postby DocWylie on Tue Feb 09, 2016 11:24 pm

Recently, I made the acquaintance of a lovely young lady here in my home area of Buffalo, NY. We became Facebook friends and when I posted a photo of the famous "Don't Drive Like Hell...etc etc" sign in Uvalde she commented that she was born and raised in Devine, TX and saw that sign many times before relocating to the frozen north after college, which was sometime in the 80's I then told her I was glad to hear of her heritage and mentioned that I was sure she'd been to Alamo Village...to which she replied that she HAD NEVER BEEN THERE!

Incredible, eh? :o

As Happy would have said, "Her and fifty million other people."

Yeah...but she was right there! Within spittin' distance! How could she not go...even just once? It's like people in Buffalo living 30 minutes from Niagara Falls and never going to see it.

Hmmm...I think I just answered my own question.

Yep, and I've been in Independence Hall in Philadelphia two times -- and the Alamo a million and two times.

Oh, a wise guy, ay. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Sometimes, when I watch The Alamo, and Wayne, Harvey and Widmark are standing together, I almost expect Travis to say, "Spread out. you lame-brains". :? :x
