Great shots, Clint. I look forward to more. These posters (and the wood facade) are remnants from the Tommy Lee Jones-directed TV movie The Good Old Boys shot in 1994. The building was our tack room. Tommy used it as a backdrop for a dialogue scene taking place in San Angelo, Texas, of 1910.

Tommy didn't want any of our Mexican town look, so Happy let him build facades over existing buildings on the east half of Front Street or, in this case, face them with plastic stone and/or brick. Happy liked the "new look" so much that he allowed Tommy to walk away without undoing it, and this became a real bug-a-boo for us later. As you can see, the plastic would eventually break off. But also, since it was three-dimensional material, it became a haven for bats -- thousands of 'em! The fronts of the John Ford building and the other 2-story hotel structure were full of them.

This was the gazebo across the street from the Cantina in John Wayne's The Alamo. It was finally moved off of Front Street in 1967 when the street was revamped into the Val Verde Plaza for Bandolero! Happy had it directly behind the church for years and then moved it out behind the village, since it became such an eye-sore. Since it was in Tommy's camera angles, he dressed it with a sign rather than move it.

Wonderful! These need no explanation other than to point out that there were no telegraph offices at the Alamo. That is a remnant from Streets of Laredo, the sequel to Lonesome Dove, which was shot her in 1995 with James Garner, Sissy Spacek, Sam Shepard and Charles Martin Smith. The Alamo compound was revamped into the plaza of Chihuahua City, Mexico for a scene where Charlie (who plays Garner's greenhorn sidekick) receives a telegram that his wife has died in Brooklyn. Garner (Woodrow Call) and Charlie sit under the archway (a cantina for the film and not the Long Barrack) while Charlie decides to go on with Garner, a decision that later costs him his life.

This one sort of reminds me of matte artist Peter Ellenshaw's silhouette painting of the Alamo from Disney's "Davy Crockett At The Alamo".

Clint, these are classic images. I have been enjoying them very much.
And Rich, er, um...oh, whatever Chris just said.
